Cricket has its own grace and reputation of being a sober game. Unlike football or rugby, cricket comprises of lesser body contacts with the opponents. But in some occasions, player lose their cool to get into ugly fights. Here goes a compilation of 5 worst on-field fights in the history of cricket.
5. Virat Kohli-Gautam Gambhir:
During the sixth season of Indian Premier League, the now test captain of Indian cricket team Virat Kohli got into fight with former team mate Gautam Gambhir. The fight started as KKR took Kohli’s wicket and as he was walking past KKR skipper Gambhir, some verbal comments were meant for him. Known to be easily heated up, Kohli headed straight to Gambhir and things started to become worse. Other KKR players and umpires get into the scene to send both apart. It is still marked as one of the biggest fights between Indian team mates.
4. Marlon Samuels- Shane Warne
Another ugly incident is the one that happened between Marlon Samuels and Shane Warne. In the first innings while bowling, Marlon playfully got hold of Aussie batsman’s jersey, not clear if he wanted to block his way in search of a wicket or it was a joke. In the second innings, Warne bowled a tricky delivery to Marlon and remarked some obscene ones. Eventually the both got into a verbal duel which made Warne pull Marlon’s jersey.
3. Denis Lillee- Javed Miandad

From verbal exchanges, things turned physical as Lillee kicked Miandad on his knee, an Miandad turned with a gesture to hit him with the bat.

In the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians, as Starc sent off some obscene comments to Pollard he first gestured him a good bye. Starc in reply bowled a ball but directed it towards Pollard. What happened next was even uglier as Pollard threw his bat directing it towards the bowler.
