5. England Vs Pakistan – Match forfeited after alleged ball tampering in 2006:

In the fourth Test of the four-match Npower Test series in August 2006, the controversy hit the England-Pakistan match when on-field umpires Darrell Hair and Billy Doctrove awarded five penalty runs to the hosts on Day four of the game while making an arrangement of a new ball from the store after alleging the visitors of a ball tampering.
However, after the tea break Pakistan protest while staying in the dressing room, as the whole drama was aired live which further saw officials coming on and off, before discussions took place between the England Cricket Board (ECB) and (PCB.
It turned out to be the first-ever Test to be forfeited in the history of Test cricket, as the match was awarded to England to see them wrapping the series by 3-0.
It was 56th over when Hair, alongside Doctrove, suggests for a ball change while revealing the ball was scuffed up.
After umpires waited for the extended time, they dislodged the bails after Pakistan skipper Inzamam-Ul-Haq refused to come out after the change of a cherry.
The Test was marred by speculation which did the rounds, as the decision was mutually made under the laws of the cricket which further saw the world cricket governing body ICC charging Pakistan under the article of 2.10 of the Code of Conduct (regarding the condition of the ball) in its constitution.
England was bundled out in the first innings on 173, as Pakistan posted 504 runs which further saw the hosts were 298 in 72 overs, before the game was forfeited.
