Shah Rukh Khan, the Bollywood superstar and the owner of IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders, has apologised to India’s women team’s captain Mithali Raj for making the star cricketer wait during a shoot.
The actor is coming up with the Indian version of TED Talks. Hosted by him, the show will see personalities from different fields motivating the audience with their life changing stories. And the first guest at the show is none other than India’s inspirational skipper Mithali. According to media reports, along with Mithali, Bollywood director Karan Johar will also deliver a speech in the opening episode.
The show, however, began in the worst possible manner for Mithali, as she had to wait for close to three hours as Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan reached the venue late. And as soon as he arrived, Shah Rukh went straight to Mithali and apologised in a gentleman’s style.
“He met Mithali and informed her about the reason for coming late. He also helped her prepare for her speech that she was going to deliver on stage and ensured she was comfortable. Only after that, they started the shoot,” a source was quoted as saying by Bollywood Hungama.
Meanwhile, Mithali has become the toast of the nation after leading Team India to the final of this year’s World Cup. After making it to the tournament by playing the qualifiers, the Women in Blue defied all the odds and defeated the likes of England, New Zealand and Australia to qualify for the final which they lost by just nine runs.
Mithali led the team from the front, scoring 409 runs in nine outings and was just one run short of Tammy Beaumont’s tally who was the highest run-scorer in the tournament.
