Team India speedster Mohammed Shami suffered a road accident while returning from Dehradun to Delhi. He received four stitches on his head after his car was hit by a truck. He was practicing in Dehradun for a couple of days in the Abhimanyu Cricket Academy which is run by Bengal and India A batsman Abhimanyu Easwaran’s father in Dehradun.
The fast bowler has been in the headlines over the last three weeks after his wife Hasin Jahan leveled several charges against him. It included adultery, domestic violence. She claimed that Shami had several extra-marital affairs with women and also stated that might have cheated on his nation like he did to her. Shami’s central contract was also withheld until the investigations were going on.
He was handed over the Central Contract when he was cleared of any match-fixing allegations. He had denied all the claims made by his wife till now and hoped to prove himself innocent in all the charges. Meanwhile, BCCI has said that it has nothing to do with Shami’s personal life after handing him the Central Contracts.
Meanwhile speaking on the accident Abhimanyu Easwaran’s father said, “Mohammed Shami is safe and sound. He was returning to Delhi from Dehradun after training when there was a minor collision. Shami was taken to the hospital and got a few stitches on his head. He is perfectly fine and advised rest for a day. The fast bowler is at a private place after being discharged yesterday only. He will return to Delhi tomorrow if health permits. There is no such injury which can hamper his participation in IPL.”
During an interview with ANI a few days back Shami had admitted that the last 10-15 days have been very difficult for him. To make matter worse, he suffered a minor head injury during his return from Dehradun. Team India vice-captain in the shorter formats Rohit Sharma hoped for Shami’s speedy recovery especially given the fact that he has suffered a lot in the last few days.
Taking to his twitter handle, Rohit wrote:
“This lad has gone through a lot in recent times. Wishing him a speedy recovery @MdShami11.”
