The CSK captain was expected to call it quits after World Cup 2019 but he has neither retired nor has be played any form of cricket since then. It has been confirmed that he will play the next season of the league and is likely to retire after IPL 2020.
Dhoni, for now, is unavailable for the upcoming series against West Indies and is not expected to play international cricket again. Also, since he hasn’t played any form of cricket since the World Cup, selectors do not have any measure to decide the basis of selection.
