The veteran Australian all-rounder had retired from international cricket way back in 2016 and has also now retired from Big Bash League too. He could have retired from IPL as well but since CSK had offered a three-year contract, Watson will play next season’s IPL.

He has had a successful stint with CSK. In IPL 2018, he scored 555 runs – including a century in the final – and followed up with 398 runs in the next season. He did struggle early in the tournament but shone in the playoffs and almost pulled off a win for CSK in the final against Mumbai Indians.

Watson is another CSK player who is highly likely to retire after IPL 2020.
