Varun Chakravarthy:
The uncapped cricketer fetched the big attention in the IPL 2019 auctions as he was bought by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) for a whopping INR 8.40 crores. However, in his maiden premier league, Varun Chakravarthy had to leave the league in the mid owing to a finger injury.
Ever since the IPL 2019, Chakravarthy had also not played any cricket yet he was able to attract bidders at the IPL 2020 auctions in Kolkata. There was a brief bidding war held between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) before the latter franchise backed out.
Chakravarthy was finally sold to KKR for the staggering amount of INR 4.0 crores even after having playing not even a single game in the space of 12 months. The Tamil Nadu cricketer has resumed training and is waiting for the IPL season to be back in action in style.
