Ravindra Jadeja
His name might surprise you but Jadeja will be the most experienced campaigner in the squad should Kohli sit out. It’s a surprise that he hasn’t led any team so far but Jadeja is an experienced campaigner.
A veteran of 48 Tests, 165 ODIs and 49 T20Is, Jadeja is now a permanent member of the team across formats. He did lose his place in 2017/18 but Jadeja earned his spot back. He is now indispensable in Tests and ODIs and is a confirmed selection in shortest format too. Chances of Jadeja being given captaincy are less but he is far more experienced than the other two candidates.
