The explosive wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant had all the ingredients what a youngster should have, but again he lacks in patience and temperament. However, he has enough to do justice with his talent and deliver for Team India in the absence of MS Dhoni.

The southpaw had shown a promise in his early days of international cricket. Besides, the Delhi-based gloveman, Pant has improved on his keeping skills, of late.

Also, while playing alongside Dhoni in the national team, Pant had got a chance to learn the traits from the seasoned campaigner, Dhoni.

Concurrently, Pant is also an obvious favourite to replace Dhoni post his retirement. Pant had recently made it to the World Cup squad following Shikhar Dhawan’s fractured thumb.

Furthermore, he had got a start but failed to back himself to play extended innings. Following India’s exit from the semis, selectors had also drawn an ire for preferring Pant in the squad.

After making his debut in 2018, Pant had featured in 15 T20Is, nine ODIs and as many Tests.
