The team under the tutelage of Ravi Shastri and captaincy of Virat Kohli has adopted a peculiar strategy of chop and change in the playing XI. The senior players like Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, and Ravichandran Ashwin have been dropped from the Test-playing XI on multiple occasions and the move has backfired the team.
In fact, there is a lot of insecurity in the players’ mind as there is always some alteration in the team. Thus, the players lose confidence when they know that their place in the team is not secured for the next match.
