We are just one year away from the start of the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. Well, an excitement has already reached its peak, especially in England and Wales for a kickoff of the much-awaited edition of the coveted tournament.
There has already been an incredible response in the first round of ticket ballots owing to gentleman’s game. The demand without a doubt exceeded the expectations. Hence, as a result, 42 of the 48 matches were balloted.
As per expectations, the India-Pakistan match at Old Trafford garnered more applications. The Wembley Stadium is likely going to be jampacked. It is closely followed by the final at iconic Lord’s on 14th July.
Cricket World Cup Manager Director Steve Elworthy was upbeat about the scheduling of the tournament.
“The response has been fantastic, not only domestically in England and Wales, but from fans around the world, which gives us enormous satisfaction as we work towards making this a truly global celebration of cricket,” Elworthy said in ICC’s release.
