ToggleSuryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma were the stars of India’s 7-wicket win in the third T20I against West Indies on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, which was played at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. This helped Hardik Pandya and Co. open their account in the series after losses in the first two matches.
Tilak Varma has received accolades for his outstanding performance in the last three matches and has been dubbed a star by Suryakumar Yadav, who struck a spectacular 83-run knock against West Indies in the third T20I encounter on Tuesday (August 8).
Tilak Varma, 20, was praised by Suryakumar Yadav during the post-match presentation following the third T20I against the West Indies. Yadav noted that for his age, Varma is displaying a lot of maturity in his game.
In the meantime, SKY said that Tilak put up a strong performance even while batting with him for the Mumbai-based franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
“I feel Tilak Varma for his age, he is showing amazing maturity, how he batted with me. We have played together earlier in the IPL. He performed great there as well and now here at this stage to show such maturity in only your third game. I think all credit goes to him, his hard work. That he has put in so far, I hope he continues it. Tilak Varma is a star, he is very clear in his mind,” Suryakumar said while praising the 20-year-old.
Suryakumar Yadav Says Tilak Varma Is Mentally Very Strong
Tilak Varma had scored his maiden fifty in the second T20I and was left stranded on 49* in the third T20I after captain Hardik Pandya hit a six to win India the match when 2 runs were needed to win in 14 balls.
On the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav went on to say that the star player for the Mumbai Indians (MI) knows the game and is mentally extremely strong and that it is necessary when someone enters the Indian cricket team.
“Most importantly, he knows his game very well. What he wants to do when he comes into bat and today also he was very clear about what he wanted to do and he is mentally very strong, that’s the most important thing. What you need when you come into an Indian dressing room and you play at this level, that’s the most important thing and he’s come strong,” Surya added.
India will play the last 2 T20Is vs West Indies in Florida on August 12 and 13/
