Pat Cummins is the shining star in the Australian team as well as in the cricket world. In the soon-to-end year, 2019, he has been an amazing bowler for the smallest country. Australian Test captain Tim Paine has clearly stated that he is the best bowler in the world and said his stats back that up.
Pat Cummins “The Record Builder”
Talking about stats, let’s take a look at Pat Cummin’s figures this year. So here it starts, he is the no.1 wicket-taker in the Test cricket in 2019, picking 54 wickets in 11 Test matches at the superb average 20.61. He is also ranked as the no.1 bowler in the ICC Men’s Test rankings.
Cummins is placed at No.5 in the ICC Men’s ODI bowling rankings. He also finished as Australia’s leading wicket-taker in ODIs in 2019 with 31 wickets to his name in 16 matches.
Thus, the Test skipper Tim Paine believes that the 26-year-old Pat Cummins has grown up to be the best bowler after gaining experience.

“He is clearly the best bowler in the world, his stats will probably back that up. Not just for one series, or one Test, or two Tests here or there, he has done it every game,” Paine was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.

“I think he is getting better with experience as well, I think you are noticing he is not always bowling high-140s anymore, which is a great, great attribute and skill,” he added.
Last year, Pat Cummins could not create an impact on the team because he was struck with injuries. However, He made a strong comeback in 2019 and impressed with his performances. His impact can be witnessed through his IPL 2020 auction. He went on to become the most expensive overseas cricketer in the IPL history as he was roped by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a whopping Rs 15.5 crore.
Meanwhile, Australia is playing the three-match Test series against New Zealand where Australia won the first Test match and will head to play the second Test match at MCG.
