Tom Moody speaks about Warner, Dhawan and Nehra after win against the Lions 1

After a slow start to the IPL campaign, the Sunrisers Hyderabad have now won back to back games in the tournament and have lifted themselves to the 4th place just a victory away from the top of the table.

David Warner was once again in superb form as he scored an unbeaten 74 off just 48 balls and helped his team beat the Gujarat Lions who started the season with a blast.

Ex-Australian cricketer and SRH coach Tom Moody spoke about his team’s performance and a number of other issues in an interview after the game.

He said that it was important for his team to continue back up their good performance against the Mumbai Indians a few days ago and that they will have to build on the momentum that this game has given the squad.

Moody was all praises for his skipper David Warner who currently holds the Orange Cap this season.

He felt that it was good to see the Australian opener play freely and aggressively and revealed that playing by his instincts has helped him over the year.

He also added that it was important for teams to put pressure on their opposition, right from the beginning and that Warner has helped his team do that throughout the tournament so far.

“He is a dangerous player upfront against any opponent.”

“I don’t think he is curbing his natural instincts. His natural instinct is to put the bowler under pressure and get the team to a good start. It is important he plays his natural game and goes by his instincts, which is to control the game,” he added.

He also praised Warner for his captaincy abilities and revealed that his ability to read the game might help him lead the Australian side one day.

“The Australian selectors have also recognized that he has a good strategic mind and reads the game well,” Moody felt.

The coach also spoke about struggling opener Shikhar Dhawan.

He said that it was important for his to work hard and come into the right frame of mind. He also added that Dhawan has to be positive and that he is at his best when he is trying to score runs for his side.

“Every batsman goes through that and you have to continue working hard and get into a positive frame of mind,” Moody said.

“When he is in his best form, he is always looking to score runs. A player like Shikhar is looking to be positive and add more scoring options,” he added.

Tom Moody was also all praises for SRH and Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra.

He felt that that his dedication and hard worked have helped his stay fit at his age and that his quality and performances for the Chennai outfit last season played a huge role in his comeback to international cricket.
