- Adam Gilchrist – 261 innings:
Considered to be among the pioneers of power hitting in this format, Gilchrist was crucial in changing the outlook of top order batting. The Australian wicketkeeper might not have an extravagant batting average, but his sky rocketing strike rate is an indicator of his match winning skills right at the top. In a career that included three consecutive World titles, Gilchrist got to the 9000 ODI run mark in 261 innings. As a matter of fact, that milestone was raised in probably his greatest ever ODI knock, against Sri Lanka in the final of the 2007 ICC World Cup in Barbados.
