Ian Botham – 13/106 (England):
England’s charismatic all-rounder Ian Botham tops the list with his wonderful figures of 13/106 in the ‘Golden Jubilee’ Test. The one-off Test series which was held at the Wankhede Stadium is best remembered for Botham’s superb bowling figures of 6/58 & 7/48. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Indians looked unprepared to face Botham and were able to put up only 242 with the batting efforts from Syed Kirmani. In the 3rd Innings, Botham continued to flourish when India came out to set a target. The hosts failed to counter the fast bowling all-rounder’s disciplined bowled and were eventually bundled out for just 196, setting England a target of just 98 runs which the tourist overhauled without any problem.
