Left-arm fast bowler Alan Davidson was at his best during the 2nd Test of Australia’s 1959 tour of India. He showcased his quality with a stunning 5/31 in the first innings. Thanks to his distinction, Australia gained a quick advantage with India getting bowled out for just 152.He followed up with a much improved performance in the second innings and took 7/93 to end with match figures of 12/124. Unfortunately, his bowling exploits were overshadowed by Polly Umrigar and Jasu Patel who together helped India take the match honours by 119 runs.
