8) South Africa – 305 v India

After watching the bowlers get hammered at the hands of Shikhar Dhawan & Co, South Africa batsmen retaliated with full force. Playing at Cardiff in the opening match of the Group B in the 2013 edition, India, batting first, set a target of 332 runs for South Africa to chase. The response from the Proteas was filled with ups and downs. After a false start, Robin Petersen (68 from 72 balls) and skipper AB de Villiers (70 from 71 balls) set the tone before Indian bowlers pulled back again with breakthroughs. India looked to be winning but Ryan McClaren sprung up a surprise all of a sudden and produced a stunning 71 from just 61 balls to keep the match alive and take South Africa to 305 before losing all his partners.
