4) Sri Lanka – 319/8 v South Africa

The 2009 edition was particularly forgettable for South Africa to a great extent as the hosts ended being at the receiving end of some high-quality batting from the opposition. Sri Lanka, backed by a T. Dilshan quick century and half-centuries from Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardena, posted 319/8 after being put to bat first by the hosts. Dilshan (106 from 92 balls) and Sanga (54 from 74 balls) did not let the early loss of Jayasuriya affect the momentum ad forged 158 runs stand between them. Steyn and Duminy then did some damage and disrupted the flow by removing both the set batsmen in short successions. However, the Lankan innings did not go off the tracks as Mahela (77 from 61 balls) along with handy contributions from Samaraweera ensured the batting side reached a commendable position.
