Top 10 Memorable ODI Matches in Cricketing History 1

In a high-scoring thriller India might have pipped Sri Lanka by three runs 10 years ago, but what unfolded during the game makes it one of the memorable games in the cricketing history.

The Islanders opted to ball first on a batting-friendly wicket. The Men in Blue made most of the opportunity to post 414.

In that particular game, Virender Sehwag had played an incredible 146-run knock after facing 102 deliveries.

Interestingly, what unfolded in the second innings was even poised to allow fans to witness the exciting game of cricket. Following a brilliant half-century from Kumar Sangakkara and Upul Tharanga, Tillakaratne Dilshan had played a brilliant knock by slamming a fine century to see Lanka 316 for two.

When Lanka required 78-ball 89, they tend to have gone slow with saw them finding things a bit hard. However, at the fag end of the innings, Lanka required 12-ball 15 when Angelo Mathews and Thilina Kandamby did their job.

However, Zaheer Khan had conceded just four runs with Thilan Samaraweera and Kandamby return to the hut. Ashish Nehra, who bowled final over conceded just seven wickets apart from taking a wicket of Mathews to finishing things off in style.
