We are in mid December and it’s that time of the year where the ODI cricket takes a halt and teams play Test series including the boxing day Tests. The year 2014 saw many records broken and many new records made in the ODI cricket. Total of 120 one day games were played in the year 2014. He scored 990 runs from the 25 matches that he played in the year. He scored 1 Hundred and 7 fifties during the year, and is the 3rd Sri lankan in the list of most runs scored in the Year 2014. He scored all the runs this year at an average of 41.25 and at an strike rate of 85.34. He smashed 129 fours and 1 six this year. The 2015 World Cup will also be his last World Cup in all probabilities and he would also like to continue this good form and score some big runs in the World Cup for his team. 3. Virat Kohli:

2. Angelo Mathews:
The Lankan captain and one of the brightest stars of the year, Angelo Mathews features at Number 2 in the list of most runs scored in the year 2014. Mathews has scored 1244 runs in 32 matches, falling just 12 runs behing Kumar Sangakkara who occupied the number 1 spot. This is by far the best year of Angelo Mathews.
