Many people consider height as important factor to counter the odds in cricket. But there are players who proved it wrong and yielded some sparkling performance.

We know players like Mushfiqur Rahim, Parthiv Patel, Tatenda Taibu, who have decent record in cricket. #10 Mominul Haque ,Bangladesh,  5ft 3.5 inch

This left-hand batsman from Bangladesh is among the youngest and the latest entrants to this tall of the shortest cricketers. At 23 years Mominul Haque has represent Bangladesh in 15 tests and 26 ODIs has 1410 and 543 runs respectively. He comes from the coastal town of Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh. Mominul earned himself a place in the squad after a couple of good, consistent and performance filled seasons in First Class cricket, and was in as a replacement for Shakib Al Hasan, who was out with an injury. His ability to bowl slow left-arm orthodox, made him a considerable option for the Bangladesh cricket team.

#9 Alvin Kalichanran , West Indies, 5ft

The former left handed batsman of West Indies did manage to play quite a few brilliant innings for the team. He scored a total of 4399 runs in his cricketing career for West Indies and played a total of 66 tests. Alvin retired from international cricket in 1981.

#8 Tatenda Taibu, Zimbabwe, 5ft

The former Zimbabwean captain was indeed one of the most reliable wicket keeping batsmen for the team and stood like an anchor to the batting line up when the batting of the Zimbabwean line up suffered considerably. Taibu was named as the captain of the Zimbabwean side in 2004.

The former top order batsman of Australia was indeed one of the most dependable batsmen of his days. The former Australian skipper played a total of 107 tests and scored a total of 7422 runs by his name. Boon, known for his fatty moustache, was indeed an entertaining cricketer during his days.

The left handed wicket keeper batsman of India has made his international debut at the age of 17. Parthiv has been a decent wicket keeper batsman for India and he was the wicket keeper for the Mumbai Indians in the season of 2015 when Mumbai Indians went onto win the IPL trophy for the second time.

#1 Kruger Van Wyk, New Zealand, 4ft 9in

The 35 year old right handed wicket keeping batsman for New Zealand has been onto the Kiwi squad for quite sometime. Van Wyk also played a total of 9 test matches for England and played his last test match back in 2012.
