As shrewd he was while leading Australia, his willow probably reiterated the same shrewdness while batting against India. Ponting was a legend at amassing runs against several teams, and India was one of those sides on the receiving end of Ponting’s onslaughts. The legendary captain has 2555 runs against India at an average of 54.36 with six centuries to his name. A noticeable aspect about these six centuries has been that 3 out of them were double centuries, two of which came in consecutive Tests in the 2003/04 Border Gavaskar Trophy. Ponting’s last Test century too was a double ton against India, at Adelaide in January 2012.
