In the World Cup 2015 most of the pitches have been batsmen friendly where they have scored runs freely. The batsmen have scored hundreds which created havoc among the bowlers. However, there have been some spells which have been sensational and changed the fortune of the game with ball in hand.

Tim Southee bowled one of the best bowling spell in the World Cup 2015. He picked 7 wickets for 33 runs against England. This match was played at Wellington on the 20th February. It was the best bowling spell for a long time. In this match he picked the wickets of Ian Bell and Moeen Ali bowled with some great bowls. In the second spell he came back and took the wickets of James Taylor, Buttler, Woakes, Broad and Finn. He helped to bowl out England for a paltry total of 123 which the hosts chased in 12.2 overs.
- Trent Boult
Trent Boult spell against Australia stood out. This match was played at Auckland on the 28th February. He picked the wickets of Clarke, Maxwell, Marsh, Johnson and Starc. He bowled with pace and swing. He made sure that Australia did not make a huge score. He finished with figures of 5 for 27. NewZeleand won the match by 1 wicket. He with Southee has been a dangerous new ball bowler and has picked wickets early to push the opponents on the backfoot.
- Mitchell Starc
While chasing a paltry total of 152 Starc had a brilliant spell. He picked the wickets of Guptil, Taylor, Elliot, Ronchi, Milne and Southee. He bowled with pace and made sure that NewZeleand did not win with ease. He finished with figures of 6 for 28 runs in 9 over’s. It was another great bowling spell which stood but Australia did not win the match.
- Imran Tahir
Imran Tahir the spinner was in his elements. This match was played at Sydney on the 27th Feburary 2015 against the West Indies. South Africa had scored a mammoth 408. While chasing Tahir flighted the ball and picked the wickets of Dwayne Smith, Ramdin, Simmons, Sammy and Russell. He finished with figures of 5 for 45. South Africa had won the match by 257 runs.
- Mohmmad Irfan
Mohmmad Irfan bowled a great spell in a must win match against Zimbabwe. Pakistan struggled in their batting as they scored only 235 for 7. This match was played at Brisbane on the 1st March. While chasing Zimbwawe struggled against the bouncing ball of Irfan. In the first spell Irfan picked the wickets of Chibhba and Raza. He also picked the important wicket of Mazakadza. He also picked the wicket of Mire to finish with figures with 4 for 30. Pakistan won that match by 20 runs.
