Match-winning knock in a historic run chase
The year was 2008 when de Villiers played one of his best Test knocks against Australia at the world’s fastest track, the Perth.

South Africa was chasing a huge 414 to win the final innings of the match when de Villiers produced the stunning knock.
He looked in great touch and scored a brilliant century. He remained unbeaten on 106 off 186 deliveries, as South Africa registered a memorable victory. His innings studded with nine hits to the fence.
The then Proteas skipper Graeme Smith also scored a terrific century which was instrumental in their victory.
