The thought of defending just 2 runs in the final over seems quite unreal but Glenn Maxwell did some extraordinary things on the pitch and a double-wicket maiden in the last over is no different for him. Maxwell bowled flat and quick when Sohail Tanvir and Zulfiqar Babar were at the crease with Pakistan needing just two runs with two wickets in hand in an ODI at Abu Dhabi in 2014.
Tanvir, in the mood to finish off the match, was bowled looking for a wild slog. Mohammad Irfan batted as a typical number eleven and couldn’t make any contact with the bat for the next three deliveries. When he did, the ball ballooned in the air and he was caught at cover. In an unbelievable finish, Maxwell won the match by 1 run for Australia.
