Tom Moody:
The former Australian all-rounder is an experienced coach. After his retirement from international cricket, he became Australian cricketers’ representative. In 2005, he became the coach of the Sri Lankan team and helped the star-studded islanders to qualify for the World Cup final in West Indies.
Moody’s tenure was not extended after Sri Lanka lost to Australia in the final. As his contract expired, Western Australia Cricket Association hired him as their manager and head coach of the Western Warriors till 2010.
Moody earlier applied for the lucrative Indian coaching position but his fellow citizen Greg Chappell became the Indian coach. This time again, he lost the battle as BCCI gave preference to Indian coach.
With his proven skill and experience, he could easily have been a successful Indian coach.
