Rohit Sharma (IND):

The aggressive Indian opener surpassed the ICC ranked world no.1 batsman in Test and ODI formats, Virat Kohli, as the highest run-getter in ODI in 2019. On Sunday, not only did India ended the year with a victorious series on their name but also with the two batsmen maintaining their position in the ICC rankings.
Rohit Sharma, who is already known for his hard-hitting gameplay in cricket, broke several ICC records this year. The opener scored 1,490 runs from 28 ODI matches this year, while Kohli finished with 1,377 runs from 26 games.
He scored 159 runs in the second ODI against West Indies which is by far the highest individual score of an Indian cricketer in 2019 ODI. And in the third ODI, Rohit broke Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya’s 22-year-long record of scoring the most international runs as an opener in a calendar year.
In the meantime, the 32-years-old cricketer also ended as with the highest individual score for India in ODIs for a record 7th consecutive year. Whereas, in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, Rohit made the record of hitting most centuries in a single edition of the ICC tournament.
