Ravi Shastri is the re-elected as the Head Coach of the Indian team as he is enjoying the second tenure of the job. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has renewed the contract of Ravi Shastri till the 2021 T20 World Cup.
Ravi Shastri has a connection with the Indian team for a long time. He joined the team as a director in 2014 and stayed in that post till the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. In 2017, he was back as the Head coach as Anil Kumble resigned from his post.
Under the Shastri’s period, the Indian team has enjoyed much success. The team became no.1 in Test and also won their first Test series in Australia soil. India also won 44 of their 61 ODIs and made the semifinal of the 2019 World Cup. They also won 25 out of the 36 T20Is during his tenure.
Everyone knows BCCI is the richest board so the Head Coach is also paid mammoth amount for his Job. Shastri earns about Rs 9.7 crores which makes him the highest-paid coach across the globe.
