The Australian duo added a mammoth 284 runs against Pakistan in the fifth ODI at Adelaide in 2017. They fell short by just 3 runs to break the all-time record for highest opening stand in ODI.
By the time the stand was broken by Junaid Khan, Warner had scored his career-best 179. Head scored 128 as Australia posted a massive 369 before dismissing Pakistan for 312 to complete a whitewash. The 284-run stand is the highest partnership against Pakistan in ODIs. It is also the highest for any wicket by an Australian pair in ODIs.
