The sight of Anil Kumble emerging from the pavilion to bowl with his face surrounded by a bandage, in the Antigua Test of 2002, is definitely one of the cricket’s most inspiring scenes.
Batting at No.7, Kumble was fiercely hit by a bouncer from Mervyn Dillon. The blow broke his jaw but not his determination as he came on to bowl in the next innings and took the valuable wicket of Brian Lara.
