4. Commenting after Test series drubbings: Top 5 MS Dhoni controversies

India as a Test side didn’t find the optimum success under Dhoni’s leadership in overseas tests. The Indians lost 8 tests on the trot from 2011 to 2011/12, as England and Australia whitewashed India 4-0 each. However, the most embarrassing defeat came against England in 2012, when they defeated India in India 2-1. This was England’s first Test series win in India after 28 years. The Indian Test team was surely at an all time low since the previous decade. When asked about it in the media, Dhoni changed the topic by saying that the 2007 World Cup disaster in the West Indies was far worse. This simply ravaged some people, who said that how could Dhoni compare India’s drubbings in Test matches to the 2007 World Cup disaster? Needless to say, Dhoni did receive a lot of scathing criticism for that!
