3. CB Series 2012 in Australia: Top 5 MS Dhoni controversies

India’s 2011/12 tour to Australia was simply a nightmare. First the Indians were whitewashed in the Tests. And then came the Tri Series featuring Sri Lanka as the third team. In the series, Dhoni stunned everyone by commenting that he would have a rotation policy for Sehwag, Gambhir and Tendulkar. This meant that only two out of the three would play in a game. When asked about the reason behind the move, Dhoni said that the three were “slow fielders” and their fielding was a “liability” to the side. This was definitely Dhoni’s weird strategy which everyone condemned. In that very series, he had fallouts in the dressing room with Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag. Gambhir even taunted Dhoni in the press conference. Recently, a former selector said that Dhoni’s was to be sacked as the captain before the series, but N. Srinivasan (BCCI’s chairman) intervened and saved Dhoni from being sacked.
