Toggle“I can’t hear you! Cheer for India”
When your favourite player eggs you on from the boundary, you do not disappoint him. In a thrilling match against Bangladesh during the T20 World Cup 2016, Virat was seen egging the crowd on by waving his hands. The crowd in return cheered with chants of “India India”! It is not an uncommon thing with players, but when it’s Kohli, things are not the same.
The stadium was actually chanting Kohli’s name while he was fielding. But the 27-year-old cupped his hand to his ear to indicate he’d like a little more volume, please. And he gestured to “India” written on his shirt, urging the fans to switch to shouting “India” rather than his name.
