Sri Lanka’s off-spinner Rangana Herath career graph took off in the second phase of his career. Herath always lived under the shadow of legendary spinner Muttiah Muralitharan in the first half of his career but once the latter retired, the former got the recognition he deserved. The off-spinner delivered the goods for the Island nation and he was right on the money with his bowling.

Rangana Herath snared 363 wickets in 73 Test matches in this decade at an average of 26.71. He bowled with a strike rate of 57.5 and took 30 five-wicket hauls and nine ten-wicket hauls in the same time phase. Herath went on to give special performances for Sri Lanka and his accuracy was second to none.

The finger off-spinner finished his career with 433 wickets in 93 Test matches and went down as one of Sri Lanka’s best Test bowler. Herath played his last Test match against England in 2018 in which he took three wickets.
