Australia’s off-spinner Nathan Lyon has to be the most successful spinner of the decade who has delivered the goods in almost every condition. The off-spinner has not only got his wickets in the Indian subcontinent conditions (which is like a paradise for every spinner) but also all across the world. Lyon was able to prove his mettle in all but every playing conditions and he showed that he was not dependent on spinning tracks for getting his wickets.
Lyon is known to make great use of his top-spinners and he keeps the basics simple. The off-spinner took 370 wickets in the 93 Test matches at an average of 32.36 from 2010-2019. He bowled with a strike rate of 64.5 and took 16 five-wicket hauls and two ten-wicket hauls in a match in the same period.
The 32-year old spinner has helped Australia in keeping the pressure from both ends and has given great support to their lethal pace battery.
