He infused an attacking instinct in the team and led the team from the very front. The New Zealand captain played one of his finest innings against Pakistan in Sharjah. On the first day of the Test, the news of Australian batsman Phillip Hughes’ death arrived. Emotions were running high in both the teams. Controlling all the emotions,the swashbuckling batsman hit the fastest Test hundred by a Kiwi batsman(78 balls).When he was finally dismissed, he had made 202 – his third double-hundred of the year – off 188 balls. New Zealand went on to win the match by an innings and 80 runs.
