5. Alatair Cook (England)- 263 vs Pakistan, Abu Dhabi, 2015

On a pitch that was turning out to be a nightmare for the visiting batsmen due to the Pakistani spinners, Cook played one of the best knocks of his career. Riding on Shoaib Malik’s double ton, Pakistan put England under immense pressure by scoring 523 runs in the first innings. However, Cook’s 263 helped England to not only end the deficit but also take a lead of 75 runs. A second innings collapse from the home team, saw England needing only 99 runs on the final day to win the match. However, the visitors could add only 74 runs in 11 overs and the match ended in a draw.
