2. Graeme Smith (South Africa)- 259 vs England,Lord’s,2003
After being appointed South Africa’s captain at the age of just 22 in March of 2003, tough times were awaiting for Smith as his team was set to tour England in July of that very same year. However, he showed his potential in the first match by scoring a monumental 277 at Edgbaston but the match ended in a draw. He followed it by scoring 259 at the iconic Lord’s. The scores still remains the highest score by an overseas player at that venue. South Africa eventually won the match by an innings and 92 runs.
