Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar was the first batsman to achieve this unique feat against South Africa. However, he is not the fastest to score a double century in ODIs. Since then, seven more double hundreds have been registered with Rohit Sharma scoring three. Also, Indian cricketers have five double-centuries under their belt, most by any country.

Also, Rohit Sharma holds the record for the highest score in ODI with 264 runs.

However, Sehwag continued to bring his first and the only double hundred.

The Nawab of Nazafgarh Sehwag scored 219 runs before getting out facing 149 balls. His innings included 25 fours and seven sixes. However, his double hundred came from just 145 balls, thus making him the second fastest double century in ODI.

Banking on his massive knock, India posted 418 runs, thus beating Windies by 153 runs, who were all out for a mere 265.
