In a country obsessed with cricket, it is quite unfortunate that only a handful of individuals realise their dreams of donning the famous jersey of Team India.

Not surprising that in more than 40 years after India played its first One-Day International, only 218 players have represented the country in the 50-over format. But interestingly, there are some regions or states in this vast country which have consistently produced cricketers who have gone on to represent the country at the highest level.

For example, the influx of footballers in the Indian team is comparatively higher from North-East states compared to other states, or many of the famous wrestlers belong to Haryana.

So here we are taking a look at those five States which have produced the most number of players who have represented India in One-Day Internationals.

From the legendary Bishan Singh Bedi to the likes of Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh, Punjab has been a major contributor in Indian cricket. The likes of Mohinder Amaranth, Navjot Singh Sidhu, are some other prominent names from the northern state.

Overall, Punjab has given India’s ODI team 19 players so far with Gurkeerat Singh Mann being the latest.
