Steve Smith made the most of the opportunity given to him and has also made the record for most runs scored by a batsman in India-Australia test series. Not only did he make the record but he broke the 66 year old record held by the legend Don Bradman. Steve Smith scored 769 runs with 4 centuries in 4 tests. The previous best was of 715 runs scored by Bradman.
On the 3rd position we have Ponting with 706 runs in the 2003/04 series and the latest entrant into the list is Kohli with 692 runs in the recently concluded series. Though most them would be proud of this achievement but somewhere we also feel that, had he scored 24 more runs, he would have also broken the record of Sir Don Bradman, a record that very few might break in their career.
Another Indian to make it to this list Rahul Dravid for his dream run in the year 2003/04, where he scored 619 runs and helped India draw a series against Australia in Australia.
One player who seems to be missing from this list is Sachin, which also signifies that Sachin hasn’t been at his very best in a Test series against Australia, be it home or away.
