Rohit Sharma – The man with two double centuries to his name again finds his name on the list. In the last match of the seven-match ODI series against Australia, Rohit Sharma played a superb innings of 209 runs which was also first double century of his career. On Saturday afternoon the Australian team won the toss and decided to field first. The decision seemed to be going the wrong way as the openers piled up a partnership of more than 100 runs on the board. Slowly and steadily Rohit Sharma got the charge and start playing big shots. Out of 209 runs, 144 came with dealing in fours and sixes. The innings constituted of 12 fours and 16 sixes. His heroics in the death overs of the game proved to be quite crucial in the end.

Virender Sehwag – Known for his on-field aggression and habit of attacking from the first ball of the game itself, Sehwag was a big asset for Team India as he always used to lay a strong foundation along with his partner. Despite this, he never had a big score alongside his name but finally in the year 2011, he emulated his hero Sachin Tendulkar and went on to score a double century in ODI’s. He played a classic innings of 219 runs becoming only the second batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to score a double century in limited overs cricket. Out of 219 runs, 142 runs were scored dealing in fours and sixes only. Riding on his double ton, the Indian team posted a total 418/5 which is still the highest total of team India in ODI’s.

After losing the wicket of the second ball of the game, Gayle took on the charge and went on to smash 16 sixes and 10 fours which were a part of his innings. West Indies team ended their innings with 372 runs on the board. Zimbabwe team tried its level best but failed to chase such a huge target.
