AB De Villiers – Can anyone imagine a batsman coming in to bat in the 39th over of the game and then scoring a century? But the superman AB De Villiers made this possible as in January 2015 in a match against West Indies team he went onto to score 149 runs in just 44 deliveries he faced. He played with an unbelievable strike rate of 338.63. He started his batting in the fifth gear and taught bowlers a lesson of a lifetime. His gigantic innings included 16 sixes and 9 fours. Out of a total of 149 runs, he gathered 132 runs in the form of fours and sixes.

Herschelle Gibbs – In the record-breaking match between Australia and South Africa where both the teams passed the 400 runs barrier, it was the South African team that had the final say. Chasing a target of 439 runs, African team would have never thought that they would reach that magic number but riding on contributions from almost every batsman the team finally won the match. During the chase, Gibbs emerged as the hero and went on to score 175 runs alone. His knock included 21 sixes and seven fours which mean that out of 175 runs, he scored 154 runs by dealing in fours and sixes only. This emerged as a record and Gibbs is placed on the eighth rank in this list.

M.S. Dhoni – M.S. Dhoni we see nowadays was quite different in his early days as he used to have long hairs and also used to bat at a higher rank in the batting order. In the third match of the seven matches One day series against Sri Lanka, Dhoni came in to at number 3 and alone went on to win the game for the team. Team India was chasing a target of 299 runs but Dhoni took the charge and alone scored 183* runs. Out of the total of 183, 120 runs came in the form of fours and sixes. His innings is still regarded as one of the finest innings in the history of Indian cricket.

Saeed Anwar – This was probably the best innings that Anwar played in his life as the Pakistan team was up against the arch rivals India and neither of the team wanted to end up on the losing side. Riding on Anwar’s it innings of 194 runs, the Pakistan team crossed the 300 runs mark and in the end emerged as the winner of the game. 118 runs out of 194 were scored in the form of fours and sixes only.
