New Zealand have announced their squad for the upcoming ODI series against England and it sees the return of Trent Boult back into the Kiwi camp, along with Kyle Jamieson. Boult’s inclusion is an indication that the BlackCaps selectors have the pacer in their World Cup 2023 plans.

Boult and Jamieson last played ODIs in September and April 2022 respectively. Following his release from his New Zealand central contract in August of last year, Boult has been participating in T20 competitions all around the world.

He participated in the IPL earlier this year for the Rajasthan Royals and most recently played for MI New York in their successful MLC campaign, where he amassed the most wickets in the league.

Jamieson, meanwhile, was out of action since February this year and will first return for the T20Is against UAE next week.

Tom Latham will continue to captain New Zealand ODI side in Kane Williamson’s continuing absence after he ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the opening game of IPL 2023 and subsequently had surgery.

Mark Chapman, James Neesham And Michael Bracewell To Miss England ODIs

Williamson will join the side in England to continue his rehabilitation. Amongst the notable names missing from the side are Mark Chapman and James Neesham, as they await the births of their first children. Ish Sodhi will also miss the ODI series to spend time with his family ahead of a busy season.

Michael Bracewell remains unavailable due to his Achilles injury.

New Zealand are back to near full strength with the return of Tim Southee, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Devon Conway, Finn Allen, and Lockie Ferguson.
