Some say that when cricketers hang their boots, they enjoy their life doing things they never got a chance to do while they were serving their respective nations. Some spend quality time with their family while others pursue their desires and hobbies like going on adventures and vacations.
Similarly, retired South African opener Herschelle Gibbs has been enjoying his retirement by countering views on ideal Test pitches, playing golf in the Middle East, watching Rugby or spending time with his childhood heroes. The most interesting of them all is his latest addiction to the Social Networking site – Twitter.
He takes up the virtual platform to reply to fans and their comments, sharing his own views on recent series’ and even cricket in general, posting his whereabouts and the activities he’s been doing recently.
Gibbs seems to like the 140-character-only website and his recent retweets have sparked some battles with his Australian counter-part Adam Gilchrist. In the past, the duo have had some enjoyed playing some great games against each other while serving their country, domestic cricket (IPL) did the job of helping them play with each other in the same team (Deccan Chargers).
The reason for the battle of words, virtually? This was it
