Twitter reactions: India restricted South Africa for 270 for 7
South Africa batting first scored 270 at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot. But they could have set a bigger target for India if Indian spinners Axar Patel and Harbhajan Singh did not take wickets at regular intervals. MS Dhoni’s bowling change and Indian bowlers perfect execution restricted South Africa. South Africa’s opening duo Quinton de Kock and David Miller laid out a 72 run first wicket partnership with David Miller, who came to open the innings in place of Hashim Amla, who came to bat at no3.
Harbhajan Singh provided India the first breakthrough by taking the wicket of David Miller. Amit Mishra gave India another breakthrough in the 19th over by scalping the wicket of Hashim Amla, who was stumped out by MS Dhoni.
However, Quinton de Kock played the role of the anchor by registering 7th ODI hundred and an 118 run partnership with Faf du Plessis. Mohit Sharma broke the partnership by sending du Plessis back in the dressing room. But, Indian bowlers brought India back in the match 3 wickets inside three overs. Axar Patel took the most important of wicket of AB de Villiers, who decided to come at no. 6 to give a boost to the South Africa late in the innings. But, his ploy failed as Axar Patel trapped him LBW in the first delivery of 41st over. India bowlers did really well in the last ten overs as they conceded only 6 runs and took two crucial wickets to keep South Africa’s flow of run in check.

How to reduce the AB impact on the game? The option of giving him fewer overs to bat would top that list #IndvSA (typo in the earlier tweet)
