India’s rookie batsman Mayank Agarwal has had a dream start to his international career. In fact, this was Agarwal’s second back to back Test hundred. The right-hander has had a sublime domestic record and he has been able to continue the same form at the highest level.

Agarwal is on fire.
The Karnataka batsman has shown the right technique and batted at the top of his game. In fact, Agarwal was tested with some short stuff by Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje. However, he was able to keep the Proteas bowlers at bay. The right-hander played with the straight bat and showcased great batsmanship to come out all guns blazing.
Meanwhile, India didn’t have an ideal start as they lost Rohit Sharma early. The right-hander was dismissed by Kagiso Rabada. However, Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara added 138 runs for the second wicket partnership. Pujara was dismissed after Kagiso Rabada was able to produce the outside edge with Faf du Plessis taking a good catch while diving to his left.

On the other hand, Indian captain Virat Kohli had won the toss and decided to bat first. The hosts’ will like to post a big score on the board as they are currently in a dominating position at 198-3.
Mayank Agarwal has had a fine start to his Test career and he would like to continue his good show going. The right-hander has shown that he can deliver the goods in all conditions and had also done well in the Australian conditions.

Second Test hundred for Mayank Agarwal.
It was at Pune where Mayank hit his first triple hundred (304*) v Maharashtra in the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy season. That innings changed his fortunes

For now, Mayank has certainly earned the right to open the batting. Need to watch him bat in SEN, where his staying legside-type technique would be tested #INDvSA
