Three fifties in as many games only saw MS Dhoni turning the clock back, and helping India win the game first; then the series. Courtesy his unbeaten 87*, 46 off Virat Kohli, along with a handy half-century Kedar Jadhav, India won the MCG ODI by seven wickets. As a result, they have clinched the three-match series 2-1 and thus ended their famous Australia tour on a high. The visitors, meanwhile, had won the Border-Gavaskar series 2-1. However, the Twitter world reacted to India’s win at the ‘G’.
India wins MCG ODI; clinch One-Day series
It was no cakewalk for the India National Cricket Team in Melbourne. Bowling first after winning the toss for the first time in the ODI series, India bowled out Aussies for 230. Yuzvendra Chahal, the leg-spinner was the sole reason behind it. After he got included in the XI instead of Kuldeep Yadav, Chahal did the damage in the first over itself.
He got the pair of Shaun Marsh and Usman Khawaja. Later, he had Marcus Stoinis’ number and then got Peter Handscomb out too. By the end of his ten-over spell, Chahal ran through the tail; finishing with 6/42. As a result, he had become the first spinner ever to take a six-wicket haul in One-Day cricket in Australia.

Meanwhile, the chase wasn’t as smooth as it looked like. India lost Rohit Sharma early, while Dhawan didn’t stay at the crease for long either. The India captain Virat Kohli did get going, but Jhye Richardson restricted him on 46. However, later, the pair of ever-reliable MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav got India past the winning line.
Dhoni shines in India’s series win
Though he didn’t hit a single hundred, MS Dhoni came good with the bat in the series. Having the scores of 51, 55* and 87* in three games, the former India captain averaged 193. Meanwhile, India will now take on New Zealand in the five-match ODIs and three T20Is, which begins January 23rd.
Here is how the Twitter reacted –

MS Dhoni's batting average in successful chases in ODIs (with a minimum of 25 inns played) is now a pretty crazy 103.07 (2783 runs in 73 innings). No one chases like Mahi! #AUSvIND
