In the three-match, One-day International series decider at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on a placid-looking surface solid as a rock Rohit Sharma made the mockery of New Zealand bowling line-up alongside batting mainstay Kohli, who eventually became the fastest to a go-past 9,000-run milestone in his 194th ODI innings.

Gloveman Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored quickfire 25 off 17 before returning to the pavilion when he was caught by Colin Munro on the bowling of Adam Milne, as Kedar Jadhav posted 10-ball 18 to perish on the bowling of Milne when Martin Guptill completed a simple catch.

Earlier, Kiwis skipper decided to bowl first after winning the toss as the hosts’ batsmen equally grabbed the chance — to score at will by taking on the visiting bowlers early on.

India posted 337 for six on board in 50 allotted overs after Rohit and Kohli registered hundred each to flay further the Black Caps bowling department which saw them boosting the run-rate by smashing all parts to the packed ground.

For the Black Caps, there was nothing much on offer as Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee and Adam Milne bagged two wickets each.

In 44th over, Kohli brought his overall 32nd ODI hundred and sixth of 2017 which further saw him collecting 10th century as a leader for Men in Blue.

Tim Southee dismissed sensational Kohli after scoring 106-ball 113, as his innings was comprised of nine boundaries and a solitary six.

Moreover, it was also his fifth hundred against New Zealand. Kohli reached to his hundred-run-mark in 96 deliveries, before Southee caught Hardik Pandya (8 of 6) on the bowling of Santner.

There on, the entire story was different as Rohit and Kohli forged a double-hundred-run stand for the second wicket.

However, it was left-arm orthodox spinner Mitchell Santner, who put an end to the 230-run partnership when Tim Southee claimed a simple catch – to see Rohit trudging off the ground after scoring 147 off 138 balls.

Interestingly, it was the fourth occasion when Rohit-Kohli crossed-past 200-run mark, as both have a knack to spend quality time at the crease before sett-up a world record.

The 30-year-old batsman Rohit struck 18 boundaries and two maximums – to register his 15th ODI hundred and fifth in 2017.

India lost left-handed explosive batsman Shikhar Dhawan at the score of 29 when he was caught by visitors skipper Kane Williamson on the bowling of paceman Tim Southee.
